In 2021, Amaye Kassim — a father, community leader, and trailblazer for Somali entrepreneurship — opened Amaye International Restaurant with the dream of bringing a piece of Somalia to Oregon. What began as a vision rooted in culture and memory has grown into a gathering place where people from all backgrounds can taste home-cooked Somali cuisine and feel the warmth of Somali hospitality.

Today, Amaye International stands as both a restaurant and a community hub, preserving tradition, creating opportunity, and reminding the Somali diaspora that their stories and flavors still have a place to thrive.
